SUPERBABE KILLAH’S SUMMER SURVIVAL KIT
Our first Misfit Muse on beauty, chaos and staying hot. Meet the woman who refuses to fit the mould.
Karla Zelic, aka @superbabekillah, is the kind of creative who makes contradiction look good. Fashion, writing, beauty, chaos, confidence and vulnerability all exist comfortably in her universe. She doesn’t subscribe to a single aesthetic, and definitely doesn’t seem interested in being easily defined.
For our first FLAW Misfit Muse, we asked Super Babe to share the things getting her through summer: the products she loves, the rituals she keeps and the essentials she refuses to leave behind.
What's your ride-or-die beauty product?
If I have to choose one, it will forever be Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. She's my ride or die for 10 years now and still standing strong. Make up wise, MAC Stone lip pencil.
What's always in your bag?
My phone (actually it's always in my hands), mini make up bag for touch ups (lip gloss, mattifying powder, concealer, lipliner), a handcream, my charger, wallet and a pack of gums. Oh, and a small water bottle. Also, there's always some type of random shit that happens to end up there during the day or one extremely unnecessary object that I was convinced I’d need that morning.
What's your favourite summer scent right now?
Maison Margiela Replica Sailing Day and Beach Walk for 3 summers in a row!
What book are you reading this Summer?
I'm re-reading The mountain is you by Brianna West. Such a great, great book, highly recommend it to everyone, especially the overthinkers and perfectionsts, and ADHD crowd as well. Definitely one of those books that makes you underline half the pages and rethink your own patterns.
What's your guilty pleasure purchase this season?
A super ugly biiig kinda grandma vibes hat I bought to hide from the sun on the beach and I'm enjoying it more than I should haha. Nobody recognizes me while I wear it and that's the best part!!
What's the most unexpected thing in your summer bag?
A random seashell I picked up three weeks ago and now apparently lives there. Oh, and a hotel key card from a completely different country.
