Through the lens of Glasgow based photographer Indie Sleaze Forever nightlife becomes something far bigger than documentation. These images don't feel like party photography. They feel like evidence of temporary worlds built after midnight.

Across corners of Asia's underground nightlife scene, fashion stops functioning as trend and starts becoming language. Smudged eyeliner, synthetic fur, leather, sweat, tiny sunglasses at 4AM and accidental glamour under direct flash.
How did Indie Sleaze Forever begin, and what first pulled you into photographing nightlife?
I started it as a spam account however wanted to use it as a photography portfolio as I believed the name stood out a-lot. My style is definitely not restricted to the concept of Indie Sleaze.
What makes nightlife in Asia feel different to you?
Its definitely different from the UK, I would say there is much more crossover in subcultures and people are keen to listen to a broader range of DJs.
Do you see club fashion as identity, performance, or escape?
100%, it's space for both escapism and also belonging. Nothing beats the feeling of getting dressed up full glam and going to the club!
What draws you to photographing people after dark?
I much prefer the energy associated with it, people let loose more and want to pose for the camera. It's quite simply much more fun taking photos after the sunsets.
Do you think real subculture still exists today?
For sure, but it definitely wont be as well known about. A-lot of the time we are waiting for things to become cool before we participate.
What makes these images compelling isn't perfection but closeness. You can almost feel the heat of overcrowded smoking areas, the bass vibrating through concrete walls, the strange intimacy that forms between strangers inside dark rooms. There's something deeply human in the way these communities build themselves through nightlife. A shared aesthetic. Shared music. Shared overstimulation.
